Outlook should autoconfigure itself, requiring only your name, email, and password, as follows:
- Add a new mail account. In Outlook 365, you get to that from File – Account Settings – Account Settings – Email – New…. Or in older versions, you would get to that from File – Add Account, or File – Info – Account Settings – E-Mail – New, or Tools – Account Settings – New, or Tools – Email accounts – Add a new email account.
- Enter your name, email address, and the password for your new mailbox.
- If asked to “Allow this web site to configure email@domain server settings?”, choose Allow.
- After it successfully connects and sends a test message, click Finish.
You should now be able to read and send mail.
However, if for some reason Outlook has trouble with the autoconfigure, you can use these steps to manually configure an IMAP account (which we recommend over POP):
Outlook 365- Start Outlook.
- From the File menu, on the Info tab, click Account Settings.
- Select Account Settings from the list.
- On the Email tab, click New…
- Enter your email address, pull down Advanced options… and check Let me configure my account manually., and click Connect.
- Choose IMAP, and enter these settings:

- Encryption method: STARTTLS
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.electricembers.net

- (Do not check “Require logon using Secure Password Authentication”!)
- Click Next
